Houston Yoga & Ayurveda provides a unique combination of Yoga, Ayurveda, and the Vedic Sciences to provide holistic and complete training. We teach in small groups where individual attention is given. Expect to go deep and wide expanding your yoga and holistic health experience.
We practice what we teach. We are the only institute in greater Houston that sees Ayurveda and yoga therapy clients on a daily basis and passes on that knowledge to our students. Be at the forefront of holistic health care practice!
Chief Instructor, Sharon Kapp, is certified for Yoga (YA), Yoga Therapy (IAYT), and Ayurveda (NAMA) at a doctoral level. Originally from Pune, India Sharon was exposed first to Yoga as B.K.S. and Geeta Iyengar were her physical education teachers at primary school. Enjoy our authentic practice and training to the Indian Gurushishwa system; The way it was meant to be.
The Ayurveda Yoga Therapy Course was accredited by IAYT (International Association of Yoga Therapists), the leading, world-wide recognized organization, five years ago. We are in the process of recertification.
The prerequisites for starting the Ayurveda Yoga Therapy Diploma is an RYT 200 (or equivalent) with 100 hours of teaching experience and personal practice for at least one year. Candidates who have extensive and recognized Yoga Therapy, Physiotherapeutic, Medical, or Ayurvedic training and experience may request credit transfer by submitting certificates, curriculum, and school contact details. A personal interview with the program director will be the basis for any final decision.

Program Start is TBA. We meet full-day weekends from 6 am-6 pm and every weekday evening 4-9 pm for the first two weeks days for the theory portion. This is the intensive part of the course where attendance is mandatory. Online participation is possible for this portion of the course however it is highly recommended to be at the center for at least one weekend per intensive module. We do not teach remotely as we know you can absorb far more knowledge by being in the Ashram personally.
A further four intensive modules will be scheduled app. in XYZ coordinating exact dates that suit the participants. After each class taught modul, you can schedule your own time for assignments, tests, and your own client therapy sessions. We expect everybody to be able to graduate within 12-18 months.

A twelve-month payment installment plan is available. Considering the down-payment upfront that means app. $1,250/month. No graduation is possible without prior full payment
With this certificate, you are able to teach at most yoga studios around the world. This yoga therapy training certificate which has to include all five modules allows you to register at IAYT, the International Institute of Yoga Therapists as a yoga therapist (extra membership cost).
You can do exciting work as a therapist at a hospital or wellness center.
